Clos du Notaire, situated near the Gironde estuary, has a deep history rooted in the Coutin family, who gave the estate its name. In 2015, Amélie Osmond and Victor Mischler took over, captivated by the stunning terroir, modern facilities, and unique microclimate that benefits from the estuary’s proximity. Their vision is to honor tradition while promoting sustainable viticulture. With 21 hectares of vineyards, including vines over 30 years old, they combine meticulous winemaking with aging in vats and new barrels. The result is wines with rich oaky notes, a supple mouthfeel, and complex aromas. These qualities have earned Clos du Notaire numerous accolades and recognition from prestigious wine competitions and publications across France.
