Bodegas Balbás crafts wines from small productions, blending innovative techniques with artisanal practices passed down since 1777. Located in La Horra, a region known as the Golden Diamond of Ribera del Duero, the winery has thrived for nearly 250 years amidst a challenging landscape. This harsh environment has shaped the family’s commitment to extracting the best from the terroir, resulting in wines recognized globally for their unique aromas and depth. With 160 hectares of vineyards, primarily cultivating Tinta del País (Tempranillo) alongside Albillo Mayor, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, each plot contributes distinct characteristics to the wines. Under the guidance of experienced winemakers Pedro de la Fuente and Fernando Izquierdo, Bodegas Balbás preserves the natural balance of the soil and adheres to sustainable practices, ensuring each wine reflects its unique origin and the family’s rich heritage.
